We are BLESSED to live right by the sea!

So I had plenty of photos...
In the end I chose this cute one of Lucas with Grand Dad, taking their haul of crabs back home!
Do you see that glittery wooden circle above?
You KNOW what I'm gonna say....NAIL POLISH.

My up-cycled items include an old tape measure, some muslin [dyed], some seed beads & that gold ribbon which was around a Christmas parcel. The crab has been in the stash for ages. He fitted my page perfectly!

As did the seahorse. I've used some chippy - left it natural. It seemed to fit best that way:)
Some more nail polish glittered up chippy triangles...

This is such a FUN, easy theme, I think, for our current LESSology challenge.
Hope you get a chance to join in!
Happy scrapping, my friends ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

LESSology Challenge #52: Creative inspiration of Mitra Pratt

Have you been rummaging through your stash to find beach-related elements for LESSology Challenge #52: Beachfront Property? How about checking out what design team member Mitra Pratt came up with?

This was so much fun to create! We missed our friend's wedding in the Outerbanks and I really wanted to make something for our friends! Such a lovely photo! Our beach challenge here at LESSology worked just perfectly!

I started off with a white canvas and a can of chalky white spray paint in lieu of gesso. Then grabbed some plaster and masks to create some background texture. After the plaster dried, I sanded it just a little to get off the rough edges.

You can just see the plaster circle peeking out behind the photo below. I inked up the plaster after it was dry and then used glitter glue to make the texture shimmer. Love that huge dowry key that I found at an antique store. I even kept the price tag and slipped it under the key! Liked that it said dowry! Slipped in a couple of clothing tags I had in my stash and some scrap paper.

Here is a peek at the edge of my canvas. I just found some pretty masking tape at the store the other day and I think it works well to finish off the side of a canvas. Not to mention it's like huge washi tape!

Used some shells in keeping with the beachy challenge and some hessian twine to keep that theme going. Last but not least, a little itty bitty turtle earring can be found swimming by the flower!

I can't wait to get this in the mail to them!

Hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge!

Hello there everyone :) It is October 7th and it is me, Tone-Lill, who has the  honour
of hosting the blogpost today here at LESSology. Our October Challenge #52 is called Beachfront Property and it is to Incorporate elements associated with A Beach on you project together with at least one upcycled item.

Mine this time, are the sea shells I picked up from our local beach this summer. Yes... we do have beaches in Norway ;) .There are 2 small sandy ones( nothing like Cornwall or Florida lol ) only 5 min drive from where I live. One of them I can see from my bedroom window, but this year it

has been far too cold ( or at least for me) to jump in.

I made a shadow box card for this challenge, possibly inspired more by the Cornish coast
than the Norwegian.....
... and it gave me the opportunity to use the seashells.
adding some metal charms as well....
I love this paper line and I cut it to look like the seagull is resting on the side panel.

This is the inside of the card
adding a few more "Beachfront Propertis"
I did some stamping too, using a brickwall stamp, making a background on the inside
sorry about the Norwegian txt, but it is a typical Norwegian expression and it says:  Magic you find in the little everyday moments

These papers too I love, as they have the weathered look and are perfect for seaside/beach theme

I hope you find some inspiration to join in our Beachfront Property challenge this month.
If you stay tuned, more inspiration will follow within the next couple of days, and it is some stunning artwork you don't want to miss out on.

Bye for now :)

I love the colours associated with a beach and created a mixed media canvas featuring those soothing colours. :)

The base of the canvas was created with light modeling paste + stencil and remnant lace.

I also added some seashells that were picked up at a beach in my embellishment cluster.

I finished with little bits and bobs from my "save-it-for-a-rainy-day"box - a ribbon tab, remnant tulle, leftover thread and medical gauze.

Hope that you play along with LESSology Challenge #52: Beachfront Property. :)
